It's the question we get more than any other: can't you just give me a price over the phone? We understand why people ask — it would be faster for everyone. But a number quoted over the phone is a guess, and a guess helps nobody once the work starts.

Think about calling a mechanic and describing the noise your car is making. No honest mechanic quotes the repair — or even tells you what's broken — without putting the car on a lift and looking. Plumbing works exactly the same way.

The symptom you can describe and the problem causing it are often two different things. A slow drain might be hair in the trap under the sink, or roots in the main line out in the yard — same symptom, twenty feet apart, and nowhere near the same price. Water under a cabinet might be the trap, the supply line, the shutoff valve, or something leaking down from the floor above. We can't tell which from a phone call, and we won't pretend otherwise.

A price quoted blind also has to protect the plumber against the worst case, which usually means it comes in high — or it comes in low and climbs once someone is already under your sink. Neither is fair to you.

So we come out, we look, and we tell you what is actually wrong and what it actually costs. You get a real number, on the spot, for the real problem.

And when you like the price, we lock it in. That flat rate is what you pay — whether the job takes two hours or four.
